Thursday night gates will resume on Thursday 15th January.

The first clubby for 2009 for Knox will be on Friday 6th February.  Gate drop at 7.30pm and registration is 6.30 - 7.00pm.

There will be a working bee this weekend - 10th and 11th January to prepare the track for track attack.  Please come along and help, remember many hands make light work!!

Interclub 2008 News!

Knox wins the 2008 Interclub relay.  A huge thanks to our relay team members - Ethan Murray, Matt Towns, Matt Dunsworth and Tom Siinmaa.

Congratulations to Tom Siinmaa for winning the Pro Am Cruiser and to Matt Dunsworth for winning the Pro Am 20.

Congratualtions to all other Knox riders who participated on the day for their club!!

Saturday Morning Coaching

Saturday morning coaching has finished for 2008.  dates for 2009 to be confirmed in the future.

These sessions are targeted at riders of all ages teaching basic skills and riding techniques for recent starters and all sprockets. Coaching runs from 9:30am to 11:00 am (Be there at 9:15) The cost is $10.00 per rider.

Sprockets - 2009 BMX National Championship Perth WA.

This announcement has been made on the BMX Australia web site. If you are the parent of a Sprocket rider you should read this.

As previously advised 2009 BMX Australia National Championships is a qualifying event for UCI BMX World Championships in Adelaide July 2009 only UCI classes will be conducted at the National Championships.

Age of Participants.

  • UCI Rule book 6.1.001. A rider must be 5 years of age to compete at a UCI sanctioned event. This means  real age.
  • BMX Australia National Championships is a sanctioned UCI Category 4 event.
  • Therefore a rider must be 5 years of age on day one of competition for 2009 National Championships being Wednesday 29th April 2009.
  • A rider who turns 8 in 2009 will ride as an 8 year challenge rider.

 Categories Challenge classes

 Please note ; UCI rule book 6.1.004

  • 5 and 6 Boys is a combined class
  • 5-7 girls is a combined class  

Scoring of riders 5-7 year olds

  • Riders in the above 5-7 categories will be scored for World qualification purposes only at the National Championships.

No holding on start hill

Parents of riders who we call sprockets (5-7) who are entering National Championship please note that as the event is qualifying event to 2009 UCI BMX World Championships and there is no holding of riders at World Championship level by anyone . There will be no holding of riders at the 2009 National Championships.A rider will be expected to have the ability to negotiate staging, stairs/ ramps and gate.
